Dicevaders 1.0a patch notes: what changes your next run

YOUR NEXT MOVE

Patch 1.0a eases several Chapter 6 restrictions and fixes tutorial, constellation and XP-preview issues. The Chapter 6 changes also apply to Ultimate Earth; a new replayable difficulty is a future plan, not a feature of this patch.

What this update changes

Dicevaders' first post-launch balance patch is 1.0a, announced on October 2, 2026. It focuses on Chapter 6 and bug fixes. The Chapter 6 changes also apply to the Ultimate Earth Multiverse challenge. Check that your installed version has the update before treating a launch-day boss discussion as a description of the current restrictions.

The practical effect is more room to plan: a perk slot is guaranteed against Bud, Tippy's blocking order is predictable and The STAR grants extra turns through its thresholds. These are targeted changes. The announcement does not say that every difficulty, target or artifact received a balance pass.

Chapter 6 changes at a glance

FightAnnounced 1.0a changeEffect on preparation
BudLocks two perk slots; the first is guaranteedUse the available slot while pursuing the remaining quests
TippyFixed counterclockwise blocking pattern, starting bottom-right; next-location arrowPlan the next threatened area before relying on it
Robo-MinNo direct change announcedPreserve more growth through the easier preceding fights
The STAROne extra turn per passed threshold, three extra turns in totalConvert reliable progress into the additional opportunities

The Chapter 6 guide turns those changes into a preparation checklist. It also separates community examples from the announced rules. A successful launch-version build can still suggest useful roles, but it should not be copied under the assumption that every old restriction remains active.

Tutorial, constellation and preview fixes

The update fixes a tutorial issue caused by rewinding and a softlock in the Constellation screen. It also corrects double-counting in the Mega-Brain XP preview. If the preview was the source of an expected upgrade, compare the current display and tooltip instead of relying on an older screenshot of the inflated prediction.

Silverheart is no longer incorrectly counted as a triggerable artifact. This matters when an engine selects or repeats artifact triggers. Review compatibility after updating, particularly if a previous plan relied on that incorrect classification. A trigger engine needs an eligible recipient, not simply an occupied artifact slot.

For a problem that continues after updating, report the current version, the encounter and what happened immediately before it. The official community hub and developer-linked Discord are the routes named in the announcement for feedback. Include a useful board screenshot when the issue concerns an interaction; the final attack number alone is not enough to explain the event.

Localization changes

The patch includes the day-one hotfix changes for fonts not updating with the chosen language, Simplified Chinese font scaling and Japanese text sometimes using Chinese characters. New fixes cover Russian font scaling and smaller localization issues, with many affecting Simplified Chinese. These are the changes stated in the announcement, rather than a claim that every localized tooltip has been independently rechecked.

If a translated description appears inconsistent with the interaction, compare the item's current effect and report the text. Do not infer a new mechanic solely from an old translated screenshot. Version and language are useful context when asking other players whether they observe the same problem.

Steam Deck and Switch availability

The same announcement confirms Steam Deck verification and digital availability on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Those are platform statements, not a performance benchmark for every device or a promise about a storefront's current regional price. Use the official store links when choosing a version.

The gameplay illustrations on this site come from official game materials and are accompanied by original commentary. A shown board is an example of the pictured run, not a saved seed or a guarantee that the same shop will appear on your platform. The guide's dice and purchase examples should be read as decisions you can adapt to your actual offers.

Planned difficulty is a future update

Pengonauts describes Chapter 6 as originally meant to be a one-time True Ending style fight. The developer plans a different high difficulty with more replayable variability, but says that work needs time and would arrive in a later major update, such as 1.1 or 1.2. No confirmed release date is supplied in this announcement.

That planned mode is not part of 1.0a. Continue using the current campaign rules, and check the official news archive for a later announcement before assuming a new difficulty has shipped. A roadmap mention and a playable update are different events.
